Faces & Choices

We are all about choices. We have talked to friends about key choices in their lives. Explore their stories.

Name: Laura Petri
Age: 28 years
Current occupation: Founder of LP Community

The choice I'm proudest of?

Starting my own business.
Exactly one year ago, I founded the LP community. The amount of women that have showed up and the support I've been given from the start have amazed me, and I am very thankful and proud of it.
I intend to touch more women and hope to make more of a difference one way or another.

The choice that taught me a life lesson?

Two choices come to mind. Firstly, joining the Danish Army. It taught me a lot about myself – my strengths, but also my weaknesses. It made me aware of areas where I needed to improve, and it showed me that we can all improve if we're willing to acknowledge our shortcomings. Secondly, the choice of dropping out of my education as a nurse. I wasn't sure about it, but I decided to let life take me on a different path. It was a challenge to be open to new opportunities, but it ultimately led me to where I am today.

"When seeking inspiration, I go outside and get active either on my bike or for a long run. It helps me clear my mind and get creative."

The choice I turn to when seeking inspiration

When seeking inspiration, I often turn to going outside and getting active. Whether it's going for a hike or a long run, I do it without music or any distractions so I can tune in with myself and get creative. It's during these moments that I often find answers to questions I've been pondering.

The choice I'm grateful for, influenced by advice?

I'm grateful for the choice to go to Munich on exchange. At the time, I was happy with my life in Copenhagen surrounded by friends and family. However, both my boyfriend and family advised me to prioritise myself and take the opportunity to go on this journey alone. I'm thankful for this advice because it allowed me to gain invaluable experiences, meet incredible people, and face challenges on my own.

“My ring symbolizes the community I have created and it’s a celebration of hard work and personal achievements.“

Design choices for my ring

The design of my ring reflects and symbolizes the LP community, representing the community I've built, but also myself and the milestones I've achieved. This ring also holds special significance for me, both because it symbolises proudness and celeberation of my personal achievements, but it also independence, resilience and the tough choices that I have made during my journey.
It's something I hope to pass on to future generations as a reminder of the strength and determination it takes to pursue your dreams.
